Frequently Asked Questions:

What makes soy candles better? The soy wax used in the candles comes from soybeans.  The majority of soybeans are
grown in the USA and are a renewable resource. They are sustainable, biodegradable and earth-friendly. In addition, all of
our soy candles use lead-free cotton wicks which means they burn clean and soot free. Soy candles will also last a lot
longer, burn cleaner, and burn slower than paraffin candles.  The bottom line? They are better for you!

If I don’t like the scent of my candle, can I return it? We only provide exchanges for damaged products. We
encourage you to order one of our votive samples to see if a fragrance is to your liking.

Can I get a colored candle?  The Candle Apothecary’s goal is to provide you with the most natural, non-toxic product
available. Because the use of dyes increases the toxicity and possible carcinogen level in the candles, we do not use dyes.

How should I store my soy candles? Soy wax will start to melt at around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure to store your
candles in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. Sun damage or florescent lights may cause your candle to cloud. We
cannot refund money to you if your candles have been exposed to these conditions.

I am getting soot from my cotton wick. Why is this happening? You should always keep your wick trimmed to 1/8” to
prevent smoking.  If the wick is not properly trimmed, you may start to see soot. This soot is not the same as the soot
emitted from a paraffin candle. Therefore, always make sure you keep the wick properly trimmed and this problem should
be solved.

Why is there wet oil on the top of my candle?  Soybean wax melts at a much lower temperature than paraffin wax, and
it releases some excess moisture when it experiences temperature changes. This is common when candles are shipped
and have been transferred from the delivery truck to your door. You can simply leave it and it will absorb back into your
candle after the first burn. Or you can gently wipe it away with a paper towel. It does not affect the performance of your
candle. Just be sure to store your candles in a cool, dry area.

Are your soy candles natural? Yes. We use only the finest, most eco-friendly ingredients to create our candles. This is
also why we do not use dyes.  Consumers should be aware that some companies may claim to use soy wax, but the candles
actually contain mostly paraffin. We guarantee that our candles contain absolutely NO PARAFFIN.

Where are the candles made? The candles are hand poured and blended in Columbus, Ohio – The Heart of the Midwest
and soybean country!
